The intended audience for this course are those who have had exposure to project management methods, processes and techniques and/or are currently project management practitioners - Those who have or are considering taking the “standard” Project Management courses offered and feel that they do not offer enough real-world or practical content. This course attempts to present industry accepted project management techniques and methods within the context of case studies and problem solving activities based on real-world problems faced by engineering project managers in the field.

Paul Gerry is principal and founder of Green City Development. He leads a team of product development engineers and partners that help entrepreneurs bring their Green Tech product ideas to reality. He has a track record of creating award winning products in the fields of: Semiconductor capital equipment, semiconductor and product test, and secure communications systems. Prior to founding Green City Development he held the position of Director of Product Engineering at Vislink Communications helping lead the product development effort for the Sprint Nextel 2 GHz Relocation Project. His team focused on creating secure communication products required for the analog to digital transition of all US 2GHZ BAS Television Broadcast facilities. In addition, Paul has led joint development projects In Japan, Korea and domestically. His awards for product development include the TV Technology STAR Award for Technology Innovation and the Northeast Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.
Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and MBA from UMASS Lowell. He is active in the IEEE as a member of the Management Society, Computer Society, and Power Engineering Society. He is a senior member of the American Society for Quality, a member of the US Green Building Council and is currently volunteering as a mentor for the Cleantech Open. His interests included data driven project management techniques and clean and green technology development.
Susan Murphy is a Senior Consultant with Invensys Operations Management in Foxboro, Massachusetts. She is part of a team of electrical, mechanical, chemical and industrial engineers, who work with nuclear utility and pharmaceutical manufacturing clients to create, improve or replace all or portions of power or manufacturing plants. She has held leading roles on numerous capital improvement projects; managing resources, budgets, schedules and clients while ensuring the delivered systems met all requirements of the customers as well as regulatory agencies. Ms. Murphy attained her Project Management Certificate in 2008 and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. In addition to work, she plays an active role in IEEE on both an International and local level as part of many different committees.
